Back in July we created a list of eight awesome places to find craft beer on tap in Michigan, but with over 100 breweries spread throughout the Great Lake State we’ve really only just scratched the surface.
So we decided to put together a list of eight more awesome places to find craft beer on tap in Michigan.
Perhaps the most iconic Irish pub in downtown Detroit, Old Shillelagh opened its doors in 1975. Founded by retired Detroit police officer John Brady, who was born and raised in Dublin, Old Shillelagh has been family owned and operated for three generations. With more than 20 beers on tap, it is a great place to try out a variety of Michigan made craft beer including our very own Old Detroit Amber Ale and Tornado Black IPA.
As and added bonus, stop by Old Shillelagh and try out our new Old Shillelagh Irish Red Ale. This malt-focused Irish style red ale is available on draft and features a robust blend of roasted barley and subtle caramel notes.

Brann’s Steakhouse and Grille has 11 locations spread out across Michigan, but for the purposes of our list we’d like to spotlight Brann’s Northville location. Featuring an incredible combination of Brann’s legendary menu, an unparalleled sports atmosphere, and a wide selection of beer on tap, Brann’s Steakhouse might just be the best place in Northville to watch the Spartans and Wolverines play on Saturday and the Lions play on Sunday.
We’re also happy to announce that Brann’s Northville will be featuring our Christmas Town Ale as their craft beer of the month during November and December.

Featuring live local music, Sporcle trivia on Thursday nights, over 32 beers on tap, and daily drink specials, including $1 off craft beer bottles and drafts on Monday, Doc Watson’s is an awesome place to find craft beer in Toledo. And while we know Toledo hasn’t officially been apart of Michigan since the conclusion of the Toledo War in 1837, we like to think of Toledo as an extension of Detroit!
