Deeply engrained in the history of American beer and design, our Michigan brewery has had its fair share of what we consider the best beer labels around. From a beloved dachshund named Frankie to a proper English gentleman, the characters on these unique labels of Frankenmuth beer have always been nearly as important as the beer itself.
After being established in 1862 by William Knaust and Martin Heubisch, the brewery was sold to the Geyer family in 1874. Despite the pains of prohibitions in the late 1920s, the Geyer brothers hit their creative stride in Michigan beer from the 1940 to the 1970s. Taking a look back through our archives, we’ve selected some of the best beer labels from this period to showcase. (more…)

The temperature may be low, but spirits will be high this weekend in Frankenmuth as Snowfest blows back into town. The event kicks off on Wednesday with several events around the city, but some major fun starts brewing on Thursday afternoon. Make sure to swing by our brewery for a pour of our Michigan beer and you’ll also be treated to some Bavarian style dance music.
No Snowfest is complete without a little Fratz’n! Local favorites Da Frankenmuda Fratz’n will be rattling the walls with their traditional polka from 6-10 pm. And don’t worry about your wallet because there won’t be a cover charge and happy hour prices will be in effect for the duration of the evening.
On Friday we’re taking the party outside with the help of our trusty warming tent. We’ll be serving plenty of hot food that will keep you nice and toasty. If you’re a fan of beer, burgers, and bratwurst then make sure to stop by. Bring your coin purse because hot chocolate will be available for 1-cent per cup. Now that’s a hot deal. The tent will be located in the brewery parking lot and open from 5-9 pm.
Bring some dancing galoshes on Saturday and get ready for some additional Snowfest entertainment. The warming tent will be open from 2-9 pm and live entertainment kicks off at 4. Hopefully you won’t have outdone yourself on Friday because we’ll still be serving Michigan beer, brats, and burgers. Remember to shine up those copper Lincolns and stay warm with the 1-cent hot chocolate.
The Snowfest celebration continues at the brewery on Sunday with a Happy Hour that lasts all day. End the weekend right with some delicious eats and ice-cold beer. We’re proud to be a part of the Snowfest tradition and we hope to see you all this weekend!
